We understand that it is difficult for children to miss school and for adults to take off work. For this reason, we reserve afternoons for the shorter appointments so we can see as many patients as possible after school and after work.
LONG APPOINTMENTS/BONDING/DEBONDING
These are more detailed and technique-sensitive appointments. Therefore, these appointments will be scheduled during our quieter morning hours. We understand that it is difficult for children to miss school and for adults to take off work. We typically see patients every 6-8 weeks. Be sure to schedule your next appointment before you leave your current appointment, for the best selection of times.
SCHOOL/WORK HOUR APPOINTMENTS
The majority of our patients are school/work age; therefore, it is impossible to see everyone in the late afternoons. It will be necessary to schedule appointments during school/work hours. School/work excuses will be given when requested.
MISSED APPOINTMENTS OR SHORT NOTICE CANCELATIONS
Another appointment will be scheduled but may require waiting a few weeks. An appointment during school hours may be arranged sooner.
EMERGENCIES
Pain, swelling, or bleeding are usually the result from trauma to the face or mouth. These patients will be seen as soon as possible. Please call our office and we will schedule you accordingly.
COMFORT VISITS & REPAIRS
You will be provided with a list of foods to avoid while in orthodontic treatment. Avoiding these foods will greatly decrease problems with breakage and repairs. Please call if you have a broken bracket, a wire poking you or are having any other problem with your appliances. We reserve time each day in our schedule for comfort visits and for repairs. (Loose bands or brackets, broken arch wires or ties, broken appliances or retainers). These appointments are always scheduled during school hours at a specific time since they are long visits. The vast majority of your appointments over the course of treatment will be short appointments. By seeing our long-visits during school hours, it leaves more room in our schedule to see more patients after school hours.
TARDINESS
Our doctor works very hard to run on time as they respect your time. In return they ask that you respect their time and our schedule. If you are running late for an appointment please call our office to make arrangements. You may have to reschedule that appointment.
EXTENDED TREATMENT TIME
Breakage and the necessity of repair appointments increase the length of time you will be in treatment. Missing appointments will also increase your treatment time. Chronic problems with breakage and missed appointments will result in additional charges to your account. I have read and understand the terms listed above and agree to pay any incurred fees. I understand that Top Smile Orthodontics will inform me of these charges prior to charging my card/account.
