Clear Braces vs. Metal Braces.

Our patient's ask if there is a difference between metal and clear braces. The short answer is no. Ultimately, braces are a handle to the tooth. This handle just like a door handle, allows us to move an object where they need be. Clear braces are an esthetic option that is less noticeable than the metal counterpart. However, the wire that engages in the brackets is metal and can be visible.

A major advantage of clear brackets for our patients are that we can remove the wire for a short period of time while they get pictures for weddings, graduation or other events that they want it less noticeable.
